HOW TO FIX YOUR GLASS TILES & SPLASH-BACKS
When fixing
your glass tiles, or a splash-back, you should use the 'Solid Bed' method.
That is, you do not use a ribbed applicator, which you often get
free with your tile cement.
You should
use a flexible white adhesive - ask for Class C2
Coat the
area to be tiled, not too large an area, preferably no more than
20 minutes of work, and smooth it as flat as possible. You
can also coat the back of the tile but don't forget, make it a
smooth coating and do not used a ribbed applicator.
Press the
glass tile firmly into the wall and that is all.
Grout as you
would a normal tile.
If tiling
swimming pools, or wet rooms, a 'Solid Bed' adhesive application
is required anyway, as it prevents water getting behind the
tiles. Apply about a 3 mm thickness of adhesive and grout
as normal.
After
grouting, clean the glass tiles as you would ordinary tiles.
